Free knitting pattern: Golden hat

29 Nov

MERCIGRANNY_Goldenhat_finishedWith a skein of Malabrigo Yarn Sock I knitted a pair of mittens, a matching hat and I have enough left to knit a hadband. For this set I wanted to be minimalistic and knitted everything in stockinette stitch.

It’s so quick to knit you can be ready to gift it for the holidays and for a very reasonable price!

Here is the pattern for the hat. Continue reading

In New York this weekend you could feel winter is on its way. It was the perfect occasion to put on a new hat! I started knitting Continue reading

80s crafts magazine

22 May

Modes & travaux is a french crafts magazine that already existed in the 80s. I received several ones from the 80s and below are a few that caught my eye.

I don’t think I’ll knit any pattern as it is but I found a lot of interesting techniques and shapes.

Purl Soho

1 May

When I moved in to New York,I couldn’t wait for the day I would be able to go to Purl Soho. I don’t miss a single new blog post they write and I generally love all the creations and ideas they feature, no matter if it is knitting, sewing or weaving.

I soon found some time Continue reading

Notions store Homo-Roussel in Rouen, France

23 Apr

I did not took the time to publish anything in the last days (month???) as I was only focusing on my move to the United States. Before I left France I stopped at the notion’s store Homo-Roussel in Rouen, France in order to buy a few DMC Natura for a new project. This reference is not available in North America and I hope I bought enough for my project!

On this picture you can see a lot of Sajou notions that this store carries.

Beret en dentelle : les photos

24 Mar

The lace beret I was knitting last February was finished but I did not took the time to share some photos of it. I did not had any spare yarn and half a ball was too small to complete an adult size beret. This will be the perfect gift for a young miss!

Yarn at the Rejkyavik airport

13 Mar

During my journey last week I had a plane connection in Rejkyavik, Iceland. I did not have enough time to get out of the airport in town but I was hoping that the Duty Free shop  would carry some local goods (yarn for example!).

Weaving loom

9 Mar

One day, when I will have a house large enough, I will try weaving and spinning yarn, two other fiber arts.

My grandfather already masters the weaving loom construction for when that time comes!

Horai for a long flight

5 Mar

When this article will be published, I will probably still be in a 15 hour plane trip. After checking with the flying company I packed my circular needles (the only kind the company autorizes) and I will be knitting the Horai wrap. On October 31st, 2012 I added the Aeolian shawl to my Ravelry queue
